I don’t know if a pair counts as a pack. Luckily coyotes don’t normally attack humans like that (otherwise we’d hear more stories). If you do meet threatening coyotes, be aggressive — b, e, aggressive!
The DNA claim sounds overly sweeping, but some coyotes up here have interbred with wolves, which do tend to live farther north (maybe the poster means Quebec, not Ontario?).
