I met “Weird Al” Yankovic! I’m the one in green looking like a dazed sweathog; my friend Keith (in red) more visibly reflects my delight in this picture. I think Al looks pretty pleased to meet us ;)
For better or worse Weird Al is one of my formative influences, so it was a thrill to finally see him in concert and meet him (even after a long day of travel and art fair tabling and half a week of short sleep, and even for just a quick greet / sign / photo). Of course I gave him a comic, ’cause that’s what I do.

Way to go, giving him a comic, Colin! I saw him at the Leb opera house the night before… I’d never been to a Weird Al show and it was INCREDIBLE! I went in, just, kind of astounded he was coming to the Upper Valley, and left A FAN!
I’ve been a fan since the ’80s but hadn’t seen him live before this weekend. I’d heard from numerous sources (including a metalhead at a factory I worked in years ago) that he puts on a good show, and he sure does! To my surprise, he also played one of my favorite of his non-famous songs :D We’ll have to get together and hob-nob about our concert experiences :)
